She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Letters from the University of New York at Buffalo, with a specialization in American Studies and Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, and a bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology from the UPR-RP. Throughout her career, she has taught all levels of English, from introductory language courses to advanced literature seminars. She currently teaches Intermediate English I &amp; II (INGL 3103- 3104) and Women of Color Writers in English (INGL 3297), a semester course that fulfills the General Studies Literature Requirement and examines race, gender, resistance, and political voice through literature, music, and media.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Dr. Santiago has served as an Academic Senator\u00a0representing\u00a0the College of General Studies in\u00a0the\u00a0Academic Senate and as a member of the University Administrative Board, where she\u00a0represented\u00a0both the Academic Senate and the University Professors of the R\u00edo Piedras Campus. In 2023-2024, she served as Co-Director of\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tiznando\u00a0el\u00a0Pa\u00eds:\u00a0Visualidades\u00a0y\u00a0Representaciones<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, a research project devoted to the study of Afro Puerto Rican visualities, cultural memory, and representation.\u00a0\u00a0She has published articles on gender and literary\u00a0studies\u00a0and her ongoing research explores the intellectual and activist contributions of Puerto Rican\u00a0nationalist women, with particular attention to figures such as Julia de Burgos and Laura\u00a0Meneses\u00a0de Albizu Campos.
