He holds a PhD in English from the University of Southern California with specializations in Race and Ethnic Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and\u00a0Transnational American Studies. His essays have appeared in\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">MELUS,\u00a0Aztl\u00e1n: A Journal of Chicano Studies<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Di\u00e1logo: An Interdisciplinary Journal<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0published by the Center for Latino Research at DePaul University, and\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Umbral<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. He also had an essay in the exhibition catalogue for the exhibit, &#8220;Emiliano.\u00a0Zapata\u00a0despu\u00e9s\u00a0de Zapata,&#8221; shown at the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City from 2019 to 2020.
