Brenda Ann Camara Walker is Professor\u00a0in the\u00a0English Department\u00a0at\u00a0UPR-RP. She holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum Development and Teaching and an M.A.in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is the former English Department Chairperson, Personnel Committee President, and has coordinated\u00a0department committees, such as Academic Affairs, Computer Assisted Academic Writing and Intermediate English Course, Literary Contest and Bridges.\u00a0\u00a0At the\u00a0college\u00a0level, she is the former General Studies Information Technologies and Assessment Co-coordinator, \u201cInstituto de Verano-PIE\u201d Director, and at the\u00a0institutional level she was Puente-NEH Proposal Director. She was the recipient of\u00a0a\u00a0PRTESOL\u00a0research contribution award and was the METRO TESOL President. She has been an item evaluator and developer for\u00a0the\u00a0College Board.\u00a0She has trained and mentored teachers in the areas of ESL and\u00a0bilingual\u00a0education in Puerto Rico and abroad.\u00a0Her latest publications are\u00a0\u201cModelo para\u00a0el\u00a0Desarrollo de las\u00a0Competencias\u00a0de\u00a0Comunicaci\u00f3n\u00a0a\u00a0trav\u00e9s\u00a0de la\u00a0Integraci\u00f3n\u00a0de\u00a0Tecnolog\u00edas\u00a0de\u00a0Discusi\u00f3n,\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cMeaningful Online Interactions and Writing Improvement.\u201d\u00a0She has offered\u00a0numerous\u00a0workshops and conferences\u00a0included at the\u00a0Pontificia\u00a0Universidad\u00a0Cat\u00f3lica\u00a0del Peru, Harvard University, CTJ TEFL Brazil, ICDA Dominican Republic, TESOL Convention in Florida and Milwaukee, and\u00a0as an\u00a0in-house guest speaker in Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican\u00a0Republic\u00a0and Curacao.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
