Lydia A. López-Ruiz is Professor in the English Department, College of General Studies, UPRRP. She has sixty doctoral credits in Administration and Supervision of Higher Education with a minor in Bilingual Studies from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey and an unconcluded 1982 Doctoral Dissertation titled “A Study of Sociopsychological Factors and Their Relationship to E.S.L. Achievement Among College Freshmen in the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.” She holds an MA in education and a BA in Arts from UPR-RP. She has taught grades K-12 and at present continuous to enjoy teaching Intermediate English in the College of General Studies, UPR-RP. Her primary interest is exploring the relationship between language and culture and literary themes in different historical and social contexts.
