    Katherine Miranda is Assistant Professor in the English Department, College of General Studies, UPR-RP. She holds a PhD in English with a specialization in Caribbean literature from UPR-RP, a MA in Education from Universidad de Sagrado Corazón, and a BA in Latin American Studies from New York University. Her areas of interest include TESOL, public education and pedagogy in Puerto Rico, and the intersections of literature and social justice in the Caribbean.  She serves as Contributing Editor of Sargasso: A Journal of Caribbean Literature, Languages and Culture.  Her scholarly articles have appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals and edited collections, and she is the recipient of a dissertation fellowship from the American Association of University Women.
