    Frank Flanagan is an adjunct professor in the Department of English, College of General Studies, at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He is completing a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Caribbean literature at UPR-RP. He also holds an M.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a B.A. in Journalism and Business from Northeastern University. His current research focuses on otherfathering, masculinities, and the oral tradition in Caribbean fiction and film. Other areas of interest include the use of emerging technologies in the classroom and film studies. His scholarly articles have appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean to present his research. Outside academia, Frank propagates rare scented tropical plants, cooks and bakes tirelessly, and has hiked most of the off-map trails in Puerto Rico.
