The price includes:

  • Registration and Courses
    Spanish courses are taught from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon from Monday to Thursday. The Society and Culture in Puerto Rico class is offered three times per week in the afternoon.  This experience is combined with field trips, workshops and cultural activities throughout the four weeks of the program.
  • Certificates
    All students will receive a certificate with their grades for their participation in the program. All students will be evaluated and receive a grade, even if they do not take the courses for college credits. Students taking the courses for college credit are additionally entitled to an official transcript, which can be mailed to their university at their request.
  • Medical Insurance
    The basic medical insurance (does not include pharmacy) available to all University of Puerto Rico students at a cost of $114.00. In such a case, the student may only participate in the program if he/she can provide evidence of personal medical insurance that applies in Puerto Rico before the first day of class. No student will be allowed to participate in our program without medical coverage.
  • Housing (except n.5)
    INIM boards its students in university residences.

INIM also offers housing alternatives, such as staying with a family or a short term apartment, for an additional fee.  Please contact us for detail.  Housing will be available during Summer Program dates (May 25 through June 21, 2008 and June 24 through July 23, 2008).

Spaces are limited, so we encourage prospective students to apply early.

  • Transportation to and from the airport
    Airport transportation will be available May 25 and June 21, 2008, and then again on June 24 and July 23, 2008. The students should send the fly information (airline and hour) two weeks before to the INIM office.  INIM will not provide airport transportation outside of these dates.  For security reasons, INIM personnel are not allowed to enter the airport terminal. Students must pick up their baggage and exit the building to where the program representatives will be waiting.
  • Field trips and admission to all locales visited by the program
    Field trips for the past program included Old San Juan, El Yunque, Luquillo, the Camuy Caverns, the Arecibo Observatory, Ponce , Hacienda Buena Vista and the Puerto Rico Art Museum.
